200 signed copies of Dan Brown’s new novel Inferno will be available from Waterstones in Piccadilly when the book goes on sale tomorrow (Tuesday, 14th May.)
The store will open an hour early at 8.00am and the books will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one copy per customer.
“We are thrilled to be able to sell the first signed copies of Inferno in the UK. This should be the fastest and biggest selling novel of the year – it’s hard to see how anything could beat it,” says Chris White, Waterstones Fiction Buyer.
“It’ll be a huge hit now and throughout the summer, then see another peak at Christmas. It could well be number one on December 25th.” The book has already received Waterstones’ largest level of customer pre-orders since JK Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy.
In the book, Brown’s symbologist hero Robert Langdon, who also appeared in Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code, tackles a mystery centred around one of history’s most enduring literary masterpieces.
The retailer is also hosting special event with the author at Freemasons’ Hall on 21st May when Brown will talking about his books and their success.
This is Brown’s only public event in the UK for Inferno, and is also his first ever public British event.
“This promises to be a very special evening where the author of some of the last decade’s most talked about books will give us an insight into Robert Langdon’s world,” says Larissa Prockter, Waterstones Events Manager.
