YouView set top boxes now available to pre-order

July 23, 2012 - Staff@seenituk

Major high street and online retailers
are now accepting pre-orders for YouView set top boxes, ahead of the service’s launch later this week.

The Humax DTR-T1000 Youview Digital TV Recorder is available to pre-order from our preferred partner Amazon.co.uk via this link.

YouView combines broadcast channels with broadband delivered content from catch-up services such as the BBC’s iPlayer and premium content from Sky’s NOW TV service. This content will be available by branded “players” accessible within YouView’s menu.

Other features include a backwards EPG and a powerful search facility which searches by actors, titles and keywords.

ISPs BT and TalkTalk will be offering broadband customers additional content via their own players.

Both companies will be offering their own boxes as part of a bundle and are expected to announce pricing in the coming days.

Speaking earlier this month, YouView Chairman Lord Sugar said: “Our intention with this simple–to-use box is to provide extraordinary TV for everyone, with on-demand services combined with TV channels with an opportunity to search back an entire week to catch what they’ve missed.”

Order your YouView box from Amazon.co.uk and support your favourite entertainment news site.
