4oD updated for 3G and 4G streaming

June 26, 2014 - Staff@seenituk

4oD_iPadChannel 4 has updated its 4oD catch-up and on demand app to add support for 3G and 4G, allowing viewers to watch their favourite shows on the move.

The broadcaster has also announced a raft of new ‘Short form’ acquisitions and commissions, including magazine shows covering films, games, news and current affairs, as well as comedies and satires.

There will also be a collection of advertiser funded shorts series, including from Rimmel London, British Gas and Alfa Romeo.

Richard Davidson-Houston, Channel 4’s Head of Online said: “Short form content is an incredibly exciting development both for viewers and for producers.

“We’ve already had a great response to Shorts from some of the UK’s most innovative new indies. Our doors and minds are wide open to ideas from forward-thinking producers who want to join in with this exciting new development.”
