Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo gets 4K digital restoration to mark 60th Anniversary

Film distributors Park Circus have confirmed that a 4K digital restoration of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic masterpiece Vertigo is coming to cinemas.

Restored from the VistaVision negative, the 4K print will screen in Cannes Classics Cinema de la Plage on the 15th of May, before its 60th Anniversary release across the UK on the 13th of July.

James Stewart and Kim Novak head up the cast which also includes future Dallas star, Barbara Bel Geddes.

SYNOPSIS
Set in San Francisco, James Stewart portrays an acrophobic detective hired to trail a friend’s suicidal wife (Kim Novak). After he successfully rescues her from a leap into the bay, he finds himself becoming obsessed with the beautifully troubled woman.

One of cinema’s most chilling romantic endeavours: it’s fascinating myriad of haunting camera angles shot among some of San Francisco’s renowned landmarks.
