BT Sport is to make this Saturday’s Aviva Premiership Rugby clash between Exeter Chiefs and Bath Rugby available for free online and via selected TV platforms.

Viewers across the UK and Northern Ireland will be able to see the game by going to btsport.com/freerugby while those with a Sky or Virgin set top box will be able to enjoy the action on their TV.

BT Sport subscribers on BT TV will be able to watch as usual.

Simon Green, Head of BT Sport said “We want to give more people the opportunity to experience all the excitement of Aviva Premiership Rugby and see just how good our coverage is.

“Making games available for all to watch has proved to be extremely popular, our last free game Gloucester v Worcester achieved an average in match audience of 134,000. This is a fantastic way of giving even more people a taste of BT Sport.”

Dominic Hayes, Premiership Rugby’s Commercial Director said: “The match is already sold out so it is great news for all Aviva Premiership Rugby fans that it can be screened to as wide an audience as possible.”

BT’s sport channels are free with BT Broadband and can be accessed online, via smartphone and tablet apps, via BT’s YouView-based TV service and on a Sky box. Sky customers without BT broadband can subscribe to the channels for £12per month via BT.com.

The channels are also available to Plusnet’s broadband customers and Virgin Media subscribers.
