Complaints after TalkTalk removes free TV pack

August 31, 2013 - Staff@seenituk

TalkTalkTalkTalk TV customers have complained after losing access to a number of free additional channels.

Powered by YouView, TalkTalk TV offers a combination of digital terrestrial channels and streamed content.

Until this week the company provided all users with access to a free ‘TV Gift’ package alongside additional optional ‘boosts’ of pay TV channels.

The TV Gift boost included Sony Entertainment TV On Demand, Sony Retro, ABC TV On Demand and and the Scamp children’s channel.

The decision to axe the free channel pack was announced on Friday, prompting complaints on the official TalkTalk user support forums and other online communities.

The company recently accounced it has signed up more than 500,000 subscribers to the service, which includes a free YouVIew box which the customer can keep at the their of their contract.

Commenting on the complaints, a TalkTalk spokesperson told seenit.co.uk: “The service continues to grow and evolve , with new content partners joining all the time, and we are continuing to invest in our TV proposition.

“Changes to the lineup are a part of this process. Our commitment to our customers is to always be the best value TV provider and give them access to great content at no extra cost.”
