Retro-themed diner Ed’s has partnered with The Cloud to add free WiFi to its menu of burgers, fries and shakes.
In addition to helping diners get online without using up their mobile phone’s data allowance, the service will let them activate special offers in-restaurant.
“WiFi is simply a part of eating out – diners check-in, search for offers, upload a photograph of their meal to Facebook and so on. It’s a part of everyday life and we needed to adapt,” commented CEO Andrew Guy.
“We want to provide a solid WiFi service so customers can sign-up to Ed’s Club and retrieve the offers that come with that. It’s all part of ensuring we give people the service they want. The Cloud has an excellent reputation. It was the perfect fit for us and even our customers asked for it specifically.”
Roger Matthews, Commercial Director at The Cloud, added: “In the restaurant world, a lot depends on the amount of time you can encourage customers to spend at a venue.
“Revenues figures can see a drastic upturn if people stay and relax and we know this was a big focus for Ed’s Easy Diners which wanted to ensure people could surf the web, check email and basically maximise their time at the restaurant – increasing spend per head as a result.”
