Humax adds Netflix to Freeview Play set top box

freeview_play_humax_1Owners of Humax’s Freeview Play set top box are to receive a free software update adding global steaming service Netflix to their boxes.

Launched last year, Freeview Play combines broadcast channels with catch-up content from iPlayer, All4 and ITV Player to ensure TV fans never miss their favourite shows.

In addition to the standard catch-up apps, box and TV manufacturers can include their own and partner apps to help differentiate their products.

Humax’s deal with Netflix means buyers of its STB’s can enjoy a large library of TV shows and top Hollywood films alongside their usual favourite subscription-free channels and shows.

The Humax FVP-4000T has three built-in digital HD tuners, enabling users to view and record more up to five channels at the same time and features a scroll back TV guide with seven day catch-up function as well as the ability to pause and rewind live television.

Existing owners will automatically will receive a free of charge, over the air update to add the Netflix app.
