ITV commissions The Poison Tree adaptation

STV Productions and GroupM Entertainment have been commissioned to produce a drama based Erin Kelly’s “dark and captivating” novel The Poison Tree for ITV1.

The book ells the story of a haunted woman, translator Karen Clarke, who will go to extraordinary lengths to protect her family and the secrets that she keeps from them.
 
Confirmed cast members include MyAnna Buring (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Kill List) as Karen, Ophelia Lovibond and Matthew Goode.
  
The two-part drama has been written by Emilia di Girolamo (EastEnders, Law & Order UK) and goes into production this summer for transmission later this year.
