River Cottage heads Down Under

The hunt is on for a Australian Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall after the producers of River Cottage signed a deal to launch an Australian version of the show.

The presenter of River Cottage Australia will be mentored by Fearnley-Whittingstall who will feature in the first series and test his Aussie counter-part’s knowledge of food and enthusiasm for all things wild and organic, and resilience in setting up a sustainable farm.


”It’s brilliant to be taking River Cottage Down Under,” said Fearnley-Whittingstall.

“Australia’s a country I have long wanted to get to know. We’ve had some lovely Aussies visit us here at River Cottage in Devon and it’s high time I repaid the compliment.

“I know there are great things happening with local, seasonal wild foods and I can’t wait to tap into them. And I’m looking forward to meeting some Aussie Hughs. At least I think I am!”
 
The deal was brokered with Australian broadcaster Foxtel on behalf of Keo Films by Sarah Tong, Director of Sales at Hat Trick International.

River Cottage Australia will be co-production between Granada Australia and KEO films.
