Fans of BBC One’s Antiques Roadshow have long enjoyed guessing the value of items, now a new on-screen game will allow them to test their knowledge against the experts when the show returns next month.

By pressing the red button, viewers will be able to play a live multiple-choice valuation game which follows the action on-screen and rates their performance against the professionals.

The BBC says it will also launch an Antiques Roadshow play-along app later in the series that will allow multiple viewers in the same room to play along on their mobile devices, and rate their performances against each other.

The app will work with the broadcast programme, as well as with recorded episodes and programme catch up on BBC iPlayer.

Antiques Roadshow returns to BBC One in October.
