Deneuve plays Geneviève, an umbrella-shop owner’s delicate daughter who has fallen for handsome garage mechanic Guy, played by Nino Castelnuovo. But the two lovers find themselves separated when Guy is shipped off to fight in Algeria.
Hailing from director Jacques Demy and featuring a story told entirely through songs by composer Michel Legrand, multi-award nominated and winning film is widely considered one of the best movie musicals of all time.
