James Marsden and Kate Bosworth play Hollywood couple David and Amy Sumner in Rod Lurie’s updating of the classic 1971 thriller.
Hollywood screenwriter David and actress Amy return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death.
Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie (Alexander Skarsgård), leading to a violent confrontation.
The film is based on the ABC Motion Picture of the same name by David Zelag Goodman and Sam Peckinpah which in turn was based on the novel The Siege of Trencher’s Farm by Gordon Williams.
Straw Dogs is released across the UK on November 4th 2011 by Sony Pictures
